Project Overview

The project was for a 145 lot residential subdivision approx. 256,800m3 of earthworks on leads.

  • Construction of approx. 9,000m2 of road pavements
  • Installed the stormwater infrastructure including approx. 1km of reinforced concrete pipe ranging from 375-1500mm. diameter as well as 91m of 1200mm x 450mm in diameter concrete box culverts
  • Sewerage reticulation, 1km of polyethylene 160mm pipe
  • Water reticulation including 1.1km of polyethylene pipe measuring 125mm and 180mm in diameter
  • Construction of approx. 4000m2 of retaining walls
  • Construction of bio retention basin measuring approx. 8000m2
  • Electrical works including HV, MV and LV conduits, pits, and street lighting

      Challenges

      • Working around existing services that were not
        identified on Dial Before You Dig
      • Unidentified naturally occurring asbestos found
      • Managed the process through a licensed asbestos
        removal subcontractor working under the Asbestos
        Management Plan

      Successes

      • No lost time injuries
      • No Interaction with unidentified services
      • Completed on time, although unidentified
        asbestos was found across the site
