Project Overview

The construction of haul roads and the relocation of 300,000 m3 of topsoil and general fill. The project scope included:

  • Clearing and grubbing

  • Stormwater and erosion control

  • Construction of temporary haul roads

  • Stockpile management

  • Hydro mulching

Challenges

  • Performed works in remote south-central Queensland, approx. 350 km west of Brisbane
  • Restrictions due to worksite at end of active runway
  • Crossed live gas services requiring special crossings
  • Potential exclusion areas due to commissioning/operations of existing infrastructure
  • Constructed temporary measures for access and control of site stormwater runoff due to sensitive environmental conditions
  • Established and communicated traffic management plans for stakeholders

  • Completed schedule two weeks ahead of schedule
  • Over $100,000 spent at local businesses

  • Peak of 12 people working, with over 5,100 total hours worked with zero lost time injuries
