Project Overview

Works involved the full refurbishment of the Court House.

  • Replacement of all existing beam seating with 3 seat and 4 seat configurations
  • Removal and replacement of all existing flooring
  • Full refurbishment of all bathrooms including new floor and wall tiles, change tables and new disability compliant toilets
  • Internal patching, preparation and painting of all walls, doors and ceilings

    Challenges

    • Works to be completed outside of hours of use, as courts remained in use
    • Staging of works to ensure that one of the two public toilets were available
    • Retrofitting existing toilet plumbing to ensure that new disability toilets meet building code

    Successes

    • Indigenous apprentice employed on this project
    • Project completed before target completion date and under budget
    • No interruptions to the courts operations
    • No defects
    • No LTI’s
